Podcasts For Product Launches

Introducing a new service or product involves a lot of serious marketing decisions that all boil down to how you can reach your target market as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. As a savvy marketer, podcast advertising should be a serious factor into your decisions. After all, podcasts offer tightly niched categories of loyal listeners who have proven to be early adapters to new products and ideas. Podcast listeners tend to share their ‘finds’ through email, messaging, websites and forums. Doesn’t it make sense to leverage some of that loyalty for your new product?
Now, be warned. You absolutely must have a solid plan and a praiseworthy product or service to advertise. Word of Mouth is the most powerful advertising force in the world. It can also be the most damaging.
Now radio, offline and on, is essentially word of mouth you control.
Once your product hits the market, the market determines what happens.
Podcasts can be a kickoff to a great buzz marketing campaign. If you can get people talking positively about your products, then you are well on your way to a successful product launch. Podcasting is a very intimate way to get to know your target audience and it fosters a positive relationship towards your brand.
This is what makes podcast advertising a great tool for test marketing. If an idea flies within certain niches then you can apply similar techniques in other niches and over a wider area in a short amount of time and minimal investment in advertising terms. Do you have the cash for a full page advertisement in the New York Times?
Well, I don’t – luckily podcasting advertising costs substantially less and can bring you comparable results in the right circumstances.
It’s a great choice if you have a product with wide appeal because you can reach a great target market with podcast advertising. At less than national advertising rates, you can reach an international customer base.
Now, if you have a localized geographic area where you can do business, then you are better looking into traditional radio. I have other articles and resources that can help you there. Click the link in the resource box for more information. Podcast advertising is for businesses with at least a national reach.
Podcasting is also ideal in the development phase of products and of marketing plans. With the lower cost of advertising you can afford to put more of your marketing dollars into product development and customer service. These are the things that mean the most to your clients and customers!
If your service is something that you can provide digitally, then podcast advertising is certainly something to consider. Virtual assistants and information marketers could certainly benefit from some podcast choices. With the variety of podcasts available to market on, there’s no doubt one that is right for your business – quite likely there will be a dozen choices!
Authors Disclaimer – Yes, I sell both terrestrial radio and podcast advertising for featured broadcasts on the Mom’s Radio Network. However, even readers who choose other radio stations and other podcast advertising groups will benefit from checking into podcast advertising as part of their marketing strategy.
