Medical Malpractice - Who Is Treating You?

Posted on May 26, 2008 - Filed Under Legal and Law | Leave a Comment

Do you know who is treating you? Patients are often unaware that the professional treating them is not a physician. For example, a patient goes into a routine outpatient procedure under which they are sedated with anesthesia. The anesthesiologist M.D. greets the patient briefly and asks some history and may perform a short examination. This takes place after another professional, likely a C.R.N.A. certified nurse anesthetist and/or a nurse has taken a history from the patient. The M.D. does not do a real thorough job taking the history or performing an examination because he assumes this has been done by the nurse and/or C.R.N.A.

Copyright Infringement Lawsuits Affect Individuals And Businesses

Posted on May 23, 2008 - Filed Under Legal and Law | Leave a Comment

A copyright infringement lawsuit can occur for any number of reasons: someone using a song in a podcast or radio program, a writer “borrowing” information from another work, copying video or mp3 off the Internet without permission (or sometimes, even to another CD or DVD). Copyright infringement lawsuits are not generally brought to the average person, unless they’re downloading a LOT of music or movies, but usually for large operations: software pirates reselling goods on eBay or to some other unsuspecting victim, someone “sampling” a song to make another, or maybe a person reselling mp3s online.

Copyright For Fashion? The Discussion

Posted on May 22, 2008 - Filed Under Legal and Law | Leave a Comment

The copying of fashion design originals - “knocking off” or “affordable interpretation,” depending on your point of view - is a practice that designers may have grudgingly accepted in the past, when less expensive copies took some time to reach stores and only those consumers who could afford the designer-label originals could be the first to follow a trend. This practice is costing designers greatly as more advanced technology makes it possible to see high-quality copies appear in stores before the original has even hit the market. While it has long been the practice of the American fashion industry to knock off European designs, American designers did not copy one another. They registered their original sketches with a trade group called the Fashion Originators Guild, an organization that urged retailers to prohibit styles known to be knockoffs.

Many say that the United States is a nation of laws, some nations, such as the Chinese say that the United States is a “paper tiger” and the laws are just barriers and that all those laws and the paper they are written on is meaningless. Consumer Law

Consumer law has been designed by the government to protect the consumers. In other words the consumer law or rights that exist protect consumer’s safety and public health. You will find that the consumer organizations have been formed to help consumers make better choices in the products they buy. Let’s look at a recent example for a moment. With trade in China many toys have come in with lead paint. This concerns the consumers as lead paint has been found to be detrimental to health. In the US regulations against the use of lead paint have been created. So for consumer law in the United States that importation of lead based products goes against the consumer laws of safety and public health. The items have of course been recalled based on the consumer law.

Other Geckos In Comparison With The Leopard Gecko

In this article, I’ll be comparing the common Leopard Gecko with the Crested Gecko from the perspective of keeping lizards as house pets. Personally, I think they are both a great choice, but I think the Leopard Gecko is a little more house-pet friendly. Before I get started, an interesting fact I found out about the Crested Gecko is that it was believed to be extinct until it was re-discovered in 1994. I thought that was interesting.

There are several things you can do to help protect yourself from identity theft, however most of the things you can do require some effort on your part. If you are determined to watch your credit then there are things you can do. Your first step should be purchasing a shredder for your home.

The shredder should become your best friend. Anything that comes into your home that has an account number, birthday, or even social security number that you do not keep and file away in a locked storage box should be shredded. Hijacked! What To Do When Your Website Is Stolen

Recently while checking the usage statistics for our company website I saw over 2000 “referrals” coming from a particular company. I usually investigate any links with such high numbers (often, it’s as simple an article of ours that someone has placed on their website). What I was shocked to find when viewing this link, was that basically our entire website was duplicated on this site. Our copyrights were removed and replaced with this company’s, and even our logo had changed to this company’s name.
