Lower back pain is almost as common as the common cold. Statistics has shown that over 80% of adults will suffer from it at some stage. Cold hard facts that mean little to you if you are reading this in pain. Lower back pain affects you 100%, not 80%. If you suffer from needless lower back pain, you want answers. Lower back pain is common, it is also commonly misunderstood.

There are actually 3 main causes of lower back pain that are easily changed so you can get out and enjoy being pain free. So what are these 3 incredible causes?

Are they related to stress, injuries, how you lift, poor posture? In fact these are the underlying causes, the reasons why lower back pain occurs. However, there are 3 mechanisms that cause your lower back pain. It is these that you can change easily, all while you work on eliminating the underlying causes.

Remove the underlying causes and you will prevent lower back pain from returning. Below are the mechanisms that create your pain now… and that is what you want gone.

The 3 mechanisms that cause lower back pain are:

One: Hip Flexor Tightness

The hip flexor muscles attach into the front of your lower spine and reattach into your thigh bone. They help support the curves of your lower spine and are commonly tight. If they tighten the curve of your spine disappears which stops the cushioning effect. The joints in the lower spine tighten and lower back pain occurs.

Stretching these muscles helps to not only remove your lower back pain it also helps to return the curves.

Two: Weak Abdominal Muscles

This does not mean you need washboard abdominals. If the abdominals weaken then the lower back loses support, this allows lower back pain to occur. The abdominals also work in tandem with the hip flexors – just like a see-saw. So if the hip flexors are tight the abdominals will weaken. Together they cause the majority of lower back pain … in conjunction with mechanism three.

Three: Pelvic Imbalance

The pelvis is like a foundation to a house. If the foundation is “sound” then everything will work better. If the pelvis is out of balance the joint sin the lower spine will not move freely and will also tighten. The pelvis is affected by both hip flexor tightness and abdominal weakness.

Together these three mechanisms cause over 90% of lower back pain issues. If you fail to address all three, lower back pain will return and become a chronic issue. All three are easily and simply corrected and you then have a lifetime without lower back pain…
